Hyatt Regency, Pune, Maharashtra: Comfort meets Style

Hyatt Regency- located in Pune, Maharashtra- is a grand hotel consists of twin tower. Service Apartments and retail shops are part of the one tower and other one is serving as a Five Star business hotel. The core architects behind Hyatt Regency are Bilkey Linas Design (Principal architects), Joel Burega (Landscape architect) and Odyssey (Hardscape design). The intent behind the hotel was to create a structure which can suitable in tropical atmosphere that’s why the external area of hotel is designed especially materialize the vision of engaged architects. 

 

Main material used in construction is natural stone and concrete. The entrance is designed by Bilkey Linus Designs and Joel Burega. Whole external area is the main highlight of hotel as it was carved very beautifully. Prime façade of twin tower is appareled with 5000 SQM of Jaisalmer Flower Limestone. The entrance is made with Black Granite and yellow Jaisalmer small cobble stone which sized 200 x 100 x 100 mm. Promised to provide a cool and serene effect, there is a strikingly eye-catching water body, which is created over tropical green granite. In order to create a white water effect, green granite has finely cut and sharpened. What add more appeal are spherical shaped floating lanterns which have rounded stone base with brass pointed tops. There is a big stone slab of 300 mm thickness on which black polished smooth granite arch is placed. It pushed on stainless steel rod. Next in the line is three lotus shaped structure which contains 216 petals in total, made of spherical stones of 150 mm diameter. It installed on rectangular box which is made by black granite. The Alfreso dining area of the hotel has a tropical green granite sculpture which is 1500 mm high with a glossy finishing.

Though being a beautiful building Hyatt Regency is, but still it has its own share of challenges. The biggest challenge was to maintain the same level and speed of water throughout the water body. The concept was to achieve the stillness of water at the surface and even water fall at the sideways of water body. Architects have overcame the challenge and created a beautiful visual appeal.
