Standing still in the submerged garden with the promise of sheltering the passer by and staging the performers, Acoustic Shell has rejuvenated one of the old social cultures. Located in the sunken garden alongside beach in Little Hampton of West Sussex in UK, It was designed by Flanagan Lawrence, who has won the project in 2012. The concept of Acoustic Shells has inspired from the traditional bandstand. The need of the bandstand increases with need of green space as people can sit and relax. Along with the sitting and relaxing it also use as stage for local performers. The construction has started from 2012 and completed in 2014 . It is considered as best building of 2015 in public architecture. The basic shape represent the “sound” which explains the name i.e. Acoustic Shell . Due its shape the sound reflects within the shell and creates a louder and impactful sound. There are two shells facing back to each other.
