9 Types of Rebar
Rebar is a short word commonly used in Construction meaning Reinforcing Bar. Concrete alone can withstand compression forces but it cannot withstand tension forces. So, rebar which is a type of reinforced material is used in place of concrete. More commonly used reinforcing material is steel. However, other materials like aluminum can also be used for reinforcement. Based on the specification, use, and application, rebar can be classified as follows: - 1. Carbon Steel Rebar: Also known as “Black Bar”, this type of rebar is most common of its types. The advantage of carbon steel rebar is its versatility. For the structures that are constantly exposed to humidity or water, this type of rebar cannot be used as it gets corroded easily.
